Don't have our new coach yet but I went the separate TPMS route for the toad. 99% of the time we take the / a toad however may from time to time take a trailer or potentially an alternate toad. Given the potential for alternate configurations regarding our toad a separate TPMS seemed to make the...
I had been watching this tread to see if there really was a way to actually change the useless SoartanLync TPMS warnings.
I bought 2x 20k weight scales and do 4 corner each major trip. I do cheat and after chocking other wheels lift the cornet up on the leveling jack 3” off ground and slide...
I don't mount my TPMS on the dash, it's low and right of the steering wheel. Initially I did and when I got the new TST color display they didn't have a good mount so I 3D printed one that velcro's to the dash near the key. Point is you don't need to be looking at your TPMS. It will alarm based...
...years I just sort out average weight, determine calculated air pressure. And 5 psi for margin and leave it alone.
During a trip I’ll monitor the TPMS for pressure and temperature from trip to trip. If the load changes drastically, visit a CAT scale and reset.
A pound here or there is just not...
I would do both. Install an auxiliary TPMS for peace of mind, and file a NHTSA complaint for satisfaction. Just like the DEF debacle. I learned the system and equipped myself accordingly to keep from being stranded (never again!) and avoid a tow, but filed the complaint because the situation is...
I too, use a TST-507 TPMS system. And I use a digital tire gauge.
Surprisingly, they agree on all (coach & toad) but two tires, the inside duals. TST is one pound lower than the digital gauge.
Guess I am lucky that they are that close. And have had both the "TST" & digital gauge for almost 4...
This is the brand that I purchased from amazon is “Blueskysea T650 Wireless Solar Power TPMS Tire Pressure Monitoring System for RV Trailer, with 6 External Sensors, Real-time Alarm Pressure and Temperature LCD Display for Van Truck Cars”
The sensors work for a short time then the 2 inside tires...
…and because it is only reading high on the inside duals, it really seems like it‘s indicating high heat there that is caused by some factor other than tires or the TPMS.
...how to do it or you can damage things pretty good. When I had rettrobands on my Ventana I carried a document that shows how to do it. They may have improved since I had the first generation. I have thought about getting them on my bus but I have to research first because of the tpms system.
Thanks Stuart. What kind of tool? I have been thinking of developing some type of tool that could be used to attach to the TPMS cap and be able to unscrew it…
my CDO requires that I also carry a good tire pressure gauge. Anybody got a favorite? ( CDO is a lot like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, the way they’re supposed to be!)
