    Alert Battleborn battery safety alert

So I took my RV for its monthly drive with the generator on, solar charging plus anything the alternator was pushing. The battery bank (8x100ah) went from 50% to 70%. I took out my thermal gun and no terminal was warmer than 70 degree…and again, they are all solid and not loose in any way. I...

MOD My new solar boondocking toy!

My wife Cindy and I have been RVing for over 25 years owning three different motorhomes with solar panels on the roof. The first two had 400W of ridged tilting panels that required me to climb and manually tilt the panels to gain optimum output while boon docking. Both of these motorhomes had...

    Question Solar install

Kevin, I don't understand where you are coming from. It sounds like you don't think anyone should use solar unless it can be cost effective. Then you equate users like me to being elitist because we want the enjoyment of having the ability to spend time boondocking without the noisy generator...

    Can’t find pre-wired solar connection

We just bought a new 2021 Coachmen Chaparral 373MBRB that is pre-wired for rooftop solar. We see the connection on the roof, but cannot find the other end of the wires and/or the charge controller. Any suggestions?

How to shut down solar panels

I have 6 100 w solar panels. Im not going to use the rig for a few month and would like to shut done all power to the rig. I'm thinking on shutting of the batteries and pulling off negative lead, disconnect a/c shore and inverter. Also, i was thinking to disconnect the solar panels by...

    LightShip Update 7/28/25

I am not aware LightShip ever suggested the solar output would support TrekDrive. I am told the LightShip in tow of a pickup truck, following in the aerodynamic wake of the pickup would require about 15 kWh at highway speeds to allow the tow vehicle to return to about the same MPG efficiency as...

    solar/inverter/autoswitch set up.

So I have a fifth wheel that has a built in generator, had it installed at the dealer when it was new. I want to put in a solar set up with an inverter and auto switch so I don't have to run the generator as much when dry camping. Because of the built in generator there is already an auto switch...

VIN # 4 is on the Line

...is about complete at station #3 and will next move over under the crane for canopy mating. The AeroHub is nearly complete. I only see one solar controller over on the driver side upper corner of the AeroHub. There should be three solar controllers in a line across the top of AeroHub...

    Battery Questions

...minimum level...at which time the inverter charger will go back to work. If you need to unplug for more than 24 hrs...consider auto gen start or adding solar or both... There is a finite number of aH in the bank...and it needs some form of charge, beit driving, generator, solar, or shore power.

    Magnum inverter

BIM is critical. Make sure your inverter has a Li setting. They charge differently. SES in Nappanee did mine. Go to someone who isreputable and specializes in solar and Li. They should know all of the components that need to be changed. With Li you need to protect your alternator.

Do tankless water heaters work in Colorado?

Mine is gas/electric but we boondock often and solar/lithium can't keep up when running the fridge on 110 ac. Thus running on gas the elevation creates problems.

Make Solar Prep standard on all coaches

Don't make Solar Prep an option, make it STANDARD in ALL Newmars. This sets Newmar above the others, make every coach "green" solar ready. Solar prep is nothing more than running the 6 AWG wires to the roof and ethernet to the inside. I'm sure the costs could be covered in the sale price...
