I did a quick search and didn't find this exact answer, so can you experts tell me if it's OK to plug my 50 amp surge protector into a 30 amp service pedestal ? My limited understanding is it's alright...but (it's all the things I don't know that get me in trouble 🤔) Thanks and Blessings

Yes, plug in the 30 to 50 adapter first then the surge protector then the RV.

Will be limited to 30 amps total.

We used to do it the other way all the time since our previous coach was 30 amp. When there was only 50 we’d plug in the adapter then the surge protector etc.

Yes.
I assume that you have a 50-30 dog-Bone adapter?
I have done this where only 30A service is available.

What is the difference???
30 amp pedestal power available = 3000w maximum.
50amp pedestal power available = 11000w maximum.

Yes you can but don't complain when you reach the limit.

I do it all the time, my home has a 30amp receptacle, as others stated, dogbone/sp/rv
