5th wheel one ton truck

Hello everyone. We're ready to get back in the rv world. Last time was 2008. I had a 2008 f350 long bed 1 ton and pulling a 12,000 cedar creek. We experienced some sway when semis and 30 mph winds blew through the rockies, and I'm wondering if I should expect the same thing unless I buy a dually. Has today's srw 1 ton pickups improved when it comes to sway and jolting as we pull a 13 to 15k 5th wheel?

I pulled a 2000 30ft 5er with a 99 F250. Had plenty of power with the 7.3 Stroker. Single rear wheels I hated. Too much swaying. Sold everything, bought a Ram 1 ton DRW 4x4 and a 35 ft Voltage 3005 toy hauler. Have made several trip to other states and will NEVER buy anything less then the dual wheels. It’s like driving a Cadillac down the Interstates

Thanks so much. We have ordered a redwood 4001lk and a f450. They're both supposed to arrive in 10 more weeks

Just as important to have the right equipment is to wait for a weather window to travel. All big loads don't deal well with side wind. Head winds seem to do well until a truck passes from behind, but downwind passing trucks can really effect any rig. I don't care dual or single back axle. Alaska! wow! Have fun.

I have a 2009 GMC 1ton srw and a 2012 36' Fusion toy hauler. I haven't had any problems with away or hauling in the mountains.
