Two years ago I replaced my Turbo 400S twist on unit after the last one died. This one actually sounded better, was quieter, etc. but all I hear is a click. Did the voltmeter checks, twist connected wires in case my connectors were bad, nope, time of death....

So I guess #3 will meet me at the next stop. I guess the sani-con's are as good as the hoses they make (not).

Lovely, it's $110 more than I paid two years ago. Ordered.

Holy crap! (yes, pun intended). I will be here all week.

Mine will run for a while, then shut down (thermally protected I guess), then after sitting for a few minutes it will run again for a while, then repeat. I’d say its on the way out too and while its a couple years old, it has been used less than a dozen times.

I guess the fact you keep replacing them, means you still prefer them to the old gravity approach?

Yes, I like that it remains connected, I don't have to stow or bring out slinky hoses. I just pull this one out and dump if not already connected, efficient at dump stations or short stays, maybe it helps draw larger "things" out of the tanks too if draining is faster, but I doubt it is. I've also been to a few locations where I've had to dump over a barrier, HWH for example was significant, etc. But yeah, it has its downsides too.

We are planning to cover the end of our SaniCon with a bag when stored in the wet bay...

Maybe one like this

I keep mine under the kitchen sink. More storage room there. Oh wait....undo.

So why don't you just build your own? From what I can tell, a "Sani-Con" is just a macerator with hose and fittings already attached and a plug. Then again, I'm pretty sure everyone in the RV world has more money than I do.

I have an inline marine macerator on the bus and a "portable" one for the truck camper (I plug it into a 12v plug I ran from the battery). They can both "run dry" for a bit without damage. I've not needed to use the one on the truck camper other than the "test" dump. I have a flat "trash pump" hose for it.

If I made my own it would not end well! Meet and greet soon after...my site.

For the frugal among us, here is a DYI macerator setup. Good idea for moving waste to a sewer clean out at a significant distance away.

Or a factiry made solution

Learn something u knew all along, but didn't!!! Thanks for that Joe!!!

Used masorators for years, the failure for most is they don't like to run dry!!! Knowing that, mine never runs dry. Most of my friends replace 2 to my 1. Next time I'm gonna try the disposal!!!
