I can offer you comments on the black material, since it is also present on the underside of our 2019 Intech Flyer Explore. Our Flyer Explore, not having the current production "extended brow" over the ramp door, experienced a long term ramp door leak along the upper edge of the rubber seal on the right hand side, due to my not keeping an eye on the pressure pads at the ramp door lever locks as they gradually compressed over time, lessening the closing force on the door seal. No fault of the Intech ramp door design.
The damaged floor became apparent when additional tie point holes were being drilled thru the wood floor under the rubber “coin” material on top. It was necessary to cut into the black underside poly material to let out water that had saturated the wood floor in the right rear corner of the Flyer Explore toy hauler due to the door seal leak.
The black material on the underside is configured very similarly to corrugated cardboard, as two skins with a wavy core, but made entirely of a poly material. It has similar longitudinal stiffness to cardboard, with only minor sagging visible in spots under our seven year old Flyer Explore, and in only one direction. Our 2026 OVR Navigate has that same material underneath its floor.
I am confident that no water intrusion from road spray or puddle splashing is even remotely possible with the poly corrugated underside material in place under these trailers. For our Explore, we made some small punctures in the poly material in order to check firmness of the nearby remainder of the floor past where the damage had made the wood saturated with water and soft when poked or drilled thru. It was not necessary to replace the small area of soft floor at the present time in our usage case. (We did add a 1x3x1/16" aluminum rectangle tube member, on brackets, under the soft section and used that to anchor the new tie point to.)
The 2026 OVR Navigate has a woven floor material as the walking surface. Presumably, any water spilled on the floor can dry out thru the open weave. Our Intech trailers are parked in Florida, so for much of the year, the local high temperature days are very effective at drying out the floor if there was a spill or minor leak. You don’t have a ramp door to invite a leak, so that is a plus. All of the black poly that we had to slit and fold down to air out wet wood from the Explore’s door seal leak was still strong, not weakened by the seven years time in place, or the water entrapment above it.
