When I lived there 15 yrs ago. I 285 on the east side was the least traffic jams.Stone Mtn has RV park

We go right through on 75.

We plan the trip so we hit Atlanta on a Sunday morning and, so far, we have not had real issues going through.

Have had a bunch of travelers tell us not to use the bypasses due to traffic and accidents being frequent.

There is a new park, Winding Waters, just north of Atlanta right off 75 we will be staying at this trip. We also stay at the Loves RV stop in Cordele - nice pull throughs and just off the highway.

The other place we stay is OH Kentucky which is further north. Nice place for an overnight stay and just off 75.

If you are going south through Cincinnati, I’d recommend taking the bypass before you get there (275). Adds a little distance but much nicer than going through downtown and merges with 71 / 75 south of Cincinnati.

Do you mean the Ohio -Kentucky rest park? We were thinking Levi Jackson. As far as Atlanta I’m concerned about it being Dec31st

OH Kentucky is a campground as well as Winding Waters.

Those are just where we stay when making the trip.

Dec 31 may not be bad through Atlanta.

We have done another route down to Albany GA and then over to 75 but it is a day longer that way.

The other thing we have had people tell us is they go through Atlanta in the middle of the night. Probably not a good idea New Year’s Eve 😊

We have rolled through there in the middle of the day on a Saturday as well with no issues just more traffic.

If you go through after rush hour it “should” be ok.

What route do you take to Albany Ga?

We bring 71 down from north of Columbus OH so we take the west side. Not sure how the east side is around Cincy.

I’ll see if I can find the old route we took to Albany GA. We got off 75 north of ATL and went down through Columbus GA. There is a nice place to stay in Albany (Albany RV Park) - then took 82 out of Albany over to Tifton to pick up 75 again.

We stayed at Harvest Moon off 75 in Adairsville, then take 140 to 53. 53 south and some other roads to get to Columbus GA and Albany is south of that.

Been a few years but the roads in Columbus were bad and full of pot holes etc.

Also do you east or west around cincin
Looking at the maps it appears the west side bypass around Cincy is a lot longer.

I’d look at your route so you can make the call.

I do know folks that go straight through there also and they like it.

We tend to avoid Atlanta but when we do go through there we go straight through and do not use the bypass. Tried east and west and our experience was going straight through was faster. Traffic on all options, just want to get through the pain as quickly as possible.

Cincy, lived there decades ago. When we pass through there, if in a car I go straight through. In a long or heavy RV I would tend to go on the east side as the I-75 hill south of downtown/river isn’t too bad on its own but when there is heavy traffic it can it a bit more challenging.

I would go through Atlanta on 75. 285 is more of a race track than it was 40 years ago.
Winding Waters on the north side south of Cartersville
High Falls State Park is a few mile south of ATL but a good stop.
There are several stops on 75 south.
Lane orchards is good if you have Harvest Host. On the south side.

We just came back from a FL visit and came though on 75 to I20. We did slow coming into the city. Sunday afternoon.
