I’ve been in the ATL area on and off for years. It depends on which side of 285 has less construction. That’s east at the moment. But it changes monthly.
You aren’t supposed to go through on any interstate. The law says 285 is for through traffic. Downtown going through is a mess during any rush hour. Note, you probably won’t get stopped unless you are wide or over height load.
Sunday morning is definitely the best. Friday afternoons the worst followed by Sunday afternoons.
Atlanta drivers do NOT understand RV stopping distances. They WILL cut in front of you. They WILL turn right from the left lane or even the left turn lane. And left from the right one. It’s the Wild West in Atlanta driving.
