Question. I installed a anti back flow check valve at the black tank connection. While it has water flowing through it, everything is fine. When I cut off the valve at this location, water blows out around the back side of the plastic fitting. Not leaking at the hose connection. It's back behind this connection next to the aluminum panel. Would this be normal?

Sounds like you used a household backflow preventer that you would put on a hose bib on your house. That's how they operate. What you need is a one-way check valve.

Like this:

They probably make them in shark bite for twice the cost but you could just sweat ends in a standard check valve like this and then carry on with pex. Home Depot has the swing type for $10 - more economical but they require horizontal mounting. That might or might not work for your application.

Thanks RKins,
Think your right. Took it off yesterday and there are holes around the outer edge of the back side. I have ordered new connectors that have a check valve in them. My old ones did not, and these are chrome, and chrome is important, 'cause it is shinny!
Will most likely leave the blow back valves on just as another level of protection.

Looks great!!

Wow you have done great work. Looks good

Nice wheel. Will it for an 08 kountry star??
If you have a Freightliner chassis, I would think it would be the same adapter.
Here is their site on EBAY.
Just be sure to order the correct adapter for your chassis.

Thanks. Emailed the seller. Hope he has something for a spartan chassis
