Possibly a napping chair should be in the area. 🤔

A milestone of sorts, as the 1st Prevost showed up this evening. I had always hoped that @sheridany would be the first. ;)

And here's why we call it "Deer Springs RV Park!"

There's an area by a stream that we've been clearing out so that our guests can get to it. And what I figured would be a 3-4 day job, has turned into a 3 month job! Not 3 months of 8 hour days, but 3 months of a day here, a day there, etc.

First, it's in a very isolated area and there are thousands of years of leaves that have built up on the ground, and it doesn't drain at all. So it all of them had to be removed. By the time I had removed it all, the floor had dropped over 2'.

But it's fine now, and we can walk right over to the creek. It's very peaceful listening to the water flow over the rocks. A couple of guests have taken their doggies over and they're all enjoying it. We built a small deck but we still have to put up railing and a wheelchair ramp.

Trish took over some plants and did some decorating (of course ;)) but it's got a long ways to go yet.

Looking forward to seeing it!

Looks like a great place for a still 😜
That might not be consistent with the decoration and landscape plan…

We had Adam in mind, every step of the way! ❤️
We arrived at Deer Springs late in the day on Friday and got settled. On Saturday afternoon, we finally got a chance to walk around and take a look at the park and also the work Jim has been doing at the creek. Once we got there, we found a surprise…Jim had named the area “Adam’s Creekside Park.”

To say we were touched is an understatement. As some of you know, we travel with our 31 year old son who has Autism, Epilepsy and something called Catatonia. We had let Jim know that we like to go with walks and see creeks and streams and sometimes Adam likes to play or rearrange rocks in the streams or watch float leaves down. So although Jim had said he was had planned a creekside area prior, he said this gave him the incentive to work towards it.

It is a beautiful area and we deeply appreciate all of the work Jim and Trish put in to have it ready for our arrival. All for a person they had never met. Again, we were deeply touched, and a bit choked up when we saw the sign.

Thanks again to Jim and Trish for touching surprise.
Rich, Patty and Adam.

You are welcome guys! Just seeing Adam enjoying the area makes it all worthwhile!

Now that the wild bunch from RV Forums has departed, (yeah, you know who you are ;)) I got the trenches in, power lines installed, and pedestals set. Electrician will be here in the morning to connect it all and call for an inspection.

The tree climbing guys will be here on Tuesday to start opening up the view, which you can somewhat see through the trees already.

Opening May 1st of 2024, these 4 sites will be ADA compliant, will have Full Hookups, Fire Pit, Picnic Table and some awesome long range views! We have strategically designed each site so that when you are set up, you won't be looking at the people across from you. Yes, you will see their rig, but you won't be looking right into the awning side of their site. So these sites will offer a degree of privacy that you don't find at other campgrounds!

Check out the colors on the distant mountains!
