Does anyone change the ATF fluid in the leveling system as a maintenance item?

Changed the ATF fluid in the Equalizer system this week. System was making odd sounds during leveling.

Sounds much happier with fresh ATF

Can see no benefit in changing the hydraulic fluid. It’s essentially a closed system and should not get contaminated like an internal combustion engine. Our former coach had an HWH system that wasn’t touched for 11 years of pretty consistent use.
Maybe your system had a bit of air in it that was causing the sounds.

I did once only because I had to buy a new reservoir/pump/motor and it came with none. I would agree that there is no need to change the fluid.

HWH says to change it if contamination is suspected. It's a somewhat involved process. On a practical level, there's no need unless you identify moisture or crud. You can add either HWH fluid, Dexron or TranSynd.
