I want to caution folks who are flat towing a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus (newer models may be of concern as well.)
-Pictures show the method, per owners manual, of taking the vehicle out of park. When done correctly you hear an audible alarm and a visual alert on the dash.
-In my opinion the “plastic” pocket is NOT a sufficient long-term solution.
-Picture one was taken March 11, 2021, before the initial insertion of the metal bead in the plastic pocket.
-Picture two was taken on April 11, 2021. The metal bead is fairly secured in the pocket.
-Picture three was taken July 15,2022. You can see that over time the plastic pocket has deteriorated over a 15-month period. I tried to insert the bead multiple times thinking I did something wrong. Each time the result was the same
-When this pocket finally gives way, the vehicle goes into park and I believe a new transmission will be in order.

I spoke with Lincoln in 2021 of my concerns and currently have my local Lincoln dealer replacing the plastic assembly which will probably need to be replaced in a year or so.
I just wanted to alert others towing this vehicle.

Help my cable broke on my 2019 Lincoln and the dealer can't find a part number to order a new one. Anyone have a part number. I'm stuck

Remember my Lincoln was a 2020 not sure if the 2019 would use the same cable Assembly. Part number was "KT4Z.7D246.T" Description is CABLE ASY - SE. Good luck!
