I don't see anything wrong with charging people who are using our National Parks for commercial purposes. "Hey, I'm just making a few bucks off youtube" is a poor excuse.

I just don't know how to respond to that!!!

Guess that idea is analog to being charged to use your John.

I agree that there should be a common sense way to make this happen with limits on noise, staying where they are supposed to be, not overtaking a spot for commercial filming (huge amount of equipment or supporting cast that prohibits other people from freely enjoying the area, etc)
As a hobby photographer I expect that I have to abide by normal visitor rules, staying where on trails, not harass wildlife, not make noise (looking at you drones) and have to be patient to get my shots while other visitors are also enjoying the scenery.
Amazing how many people show up before 5am to get shots at places like this:

I don't understand the issue. You can go to a National Park and take as many pictures and videos as you want with no permit. Share them with your friends and family. Post them on this website. Do anything with them you want. But if you're going to use them to make money you need a permit. It's always been the case that a permit is needed to use National Parks for commercial purposes.

Well! I'm one of those 10%ers. When the powers that be can't make ends meet on 99% of every fiat dollar they make out of thin air, I don't think finding more taxes should go unnoticed!!!

It's not political! What the heck, of course it is!!!
