This morning at 6:15am my neighbors must have loved me as the first concrete truck rolled up and the guys started the pour of the foundation and slab. Was able to find a place off my drive where I didn't have to cut any of the trees down to make room.

Mark what are your dimensions? I'm sure those guys wanted to get that mud laid down so it would have as much time to set as possible before nightfall. Any freeze warnings in your area for tonight?

They sprayed some chemicals on it for water / freeze protection and to supposedly help with the cure time. Luckily, the low tonight is only supposed to hit 41 and no rain projected for next 7 days.

Dimensions? Just 40' x 19', but it'll be just big enough for my littler New Aire.

The current shop couldn't be expanded nor have the roof / garage door raised (property lines, how it was constructed, etc.) so I had to find a new location for this new barn. Way smaller than I wanted, but it was the only size that would both fit my rig and make it such that I didn't have to cut down some pretty awesome trees. I still have a 3 bay shop across the drive for storing any bulky items.

I justified it in my head with I'm in my "forever rig" and now at my "forever" home before I sell off everything and eventually go the assisted living route some day. Until then, party on. :) If the next owners of the property want it expanded in the back for a longer rig they can harvest a couple of mature trees and easily push the back out at least another 20'-30' if they so desire.
