As I'm getting ready to eventually close (fingers still crossed heavily) on my 2015 4312 Dutch Star I'm also looking at immediate storage. Until I come up with long term storage it seems my Brother in law's is going to coach sit for me. The issue is above the parking area are some large pine trees. People say covers are crap, damage the paint and get ripped up but a lot of sap on the roof doesn't sound great either.

Thoughts, and not parking there is a long term solution but not short term.

Thanks

Generally I'd vote toward no cover...but pine sap (?)...keep off your roof if at all possible. So I say for the temporary storage question, buy a cheap cover and protect against the sap...IMHO

Then my next question is any recommendation. And yeah that's how I felt too on the cover issue.... No, except here.

How much sap do you get. Mine is parked next to pine trees. The tree trunk s are about 6- 7 ft from the coach. I had the tree company cut all of the branches that were hanging directly over the coach. So far, seven years, two coaches and no real problem.

The coach is washed with a wash/wax after every trip and before the next, if more than a month between trips or if dusty. Roof is washed thoroughly with a soft brush. It is waxed twice a year.

As I mentioned this isn’t my house and all I can say is the pines are close, I also can’t get someone to go in and cut trees that aren’t mine so I’m left without many options.

Perhaps you could protect the roof with a couple of those cheap blue canvases available most everywhere if sap is your main concern. Looks like you’ll be tossing them in a few months anyway. Sure would not like to have tree sap all over my rv roof.

Are you talking about tarps? Not sure how I would prevent them from blowing away

@marc2912 If short term parking there is your current solution; I believe I would invest in the "RV" Cover.

Install it as tight as possible to reduce or prevent movement of the cover! If any slight "scuffing" occurs, it can be polished out! And with the cover, there would be no "Sap" or other issues, until you are able to move it to a permanent, protected cover!

Good Luck!

This Good for temp situations and cheaper than a full cover.
