That's a motley-looking crew of Newmar owners invading your place, especially those two in the front, Marc and Jennifer. They are some of our favorite Hoots, but skipped this year...now we know why!
I needed to plan our trip better If was a last minute trip to get out of FLA. If we planned it better we might have been able to hook up with you and FlSteve

Hey Marc! That would have been a great visit...always good to see you and Jennifer. Maybe in the coming year...

I'm trying to think of a nice place for a few days right after Hoots. Maybe within an hour or two of Sevierville. Someplace quiet, with nice sites, no bothersome internet, and good hosts. Any ideas?

Let me think about that for a bit ... seems like there should be some place up there like that ???????????

FLSteve

Jim and Trish ... thanks again for a great time in Deer Springs RV Park. Linda, Jeff and I had a great time. It was great to meet everyone and finally put some faces to names from RVforums.com. We think the size of the Park is perfect. Every night we seemed to be at a different camp fire getting to know everyone. It was well worth the 471 mile day trip to/from Virginia.

Note: The photo of the gazebo is literally upside down so most of the image is from the reflection of the pond.

Skychs, beautiful pics!

Which waterfall is in that last pic? My bride and I love to chase waterfalls in our travels, would love to add this one to our list when we visit this area.

Looking forward to finding a time to visit Jim and Trish's work of love, looks wonderful. Need to schedule time to disconnect and recharge.

That was Dry Falls between Franklin and Highland NC. You can actually walk underneath the Falls. There must have been 15 different water falls driving up the mountain to Highlands NC. Maybe Jim and Trish can provide more information.

Hi Chuck! Sorry to be so late in answering this post but I haven't logged in as Deer Springs lately and it just today showed up in my feed.

So glad that you and Linda had a good time. We sure enjoyed having your visit and hope to see you both again. And wow, what awesome pictures.

Thank you so very much!

Jim

Hey Buddy, we've got Internet! Well, sort of. Kinda. . .

Just a quick note on a recent acquisition and future rental site at Bella Terra RV Resort in Gulf Shores Alabama. We purchased this site as a getaway from the cold NC winters and as a base camp for future escapades. EDIT: I forgot to mention, Bella Terra RV Resort is a Class A community. Coaches must be at least 32' and no older than 15 years at time of arrival.

This is a lakefront lot with outdoor kitchen built into a spacious bar area. There is a gas grill, side burner and green egg so you should be able to create some wonderful dinners, There is lots of seating and ample space for the girls to work on their tans while you beasts-of-burden work the BBQ. There is a small storage shed that will eventually be replaced with a Casita, but until then we will probably make it into a relaxation area when the sun takes its toll.

The Gulf Shores area is growing rapidly and there are tons of awesome shops, restaurants, golf courses, boating and fishing, etc. We will be freshening things up the month of December, and have it ready for rental starting in January. At least, that's the plan. I'm not sure what rates will be just yet, but I intend to offer it at discounted rates for our Deer Springs Alumni members. Note: if you are a member of RV Forums, and have visited Deer Springs here in NC, then you are an Alumni, whether you received a DSA card or not. :)

Here are some current pictures. I will post updated pictures as we make improvements.

YOU are the real estate mogul in the making….I would want to stay there on my cross country journeys. What’s the eviction policy if I don’t want to leave? ?.

Maybe on my way back to CA. I’ll PM you.

I’ll bet we could come to terms! We really love Gulf Shores and that’s an awesome site. You naming it #8 South?

Ha, I like it!

This morning I watched our last visitor of the 2021 season pull out the driveway and head for home. It’s sad in a way but Trish and I are both ready for a rest. Besides, all the leaves have gone, the grass is dormant and it's freezing at night. The last dozen campers have been a hearty bunch, bundling up at night and sharing some very nice campfires!

We got off to a late start, but overall, we managed to rent approximately 67% of our available dates. I don’t think that’s too bad for a first season given our late start! We expect to do much better next year, now that we have a little exposure. We’ve met a lot of nice people, made a bunch of new friends, and learned a lot about this side of the RV experience.

In a few days we’ll be heading to Gulf Shores to tidy up our lot at Bella Terra and see about getting it on the rental market. The Gulf Shores area is growing like crazy and we’re both excited to do some exploring and test out some of the restaurants.

It’s been fun meeting so many of you from this forum and I hope those of you who visited Deer Springs enjoyed yourselves and that we get to see you all again next season.

It's been a mean winter so far. Finally got a chance to go down to the park and get a couple of pictures. Sure is a far cry from a couple of months ago.
