2020-ISL9 I’m not sure about the 2018 engine and what’s changed in the electronics. that seems to be where your list ends.
Yeah, we have a 22 Cummins and works fine. Probably the last published list they have.
 
In my opinion, unless you are suffering a severe Derate I’d be very hesitant about clearing codes Wiley Neely.
Certainly would copy the codes Present somewhere for future reference before clearing them in case the issue is ongoing.
The trend of codes can be very useful to a shop trying to sort out the actual issue rather than following random codes blindly.
 
I agree. Clearing codes is parts of diagnostics so if you have a legit DTC you deal with it accordingly, and if it appears to be a phantom, temporary, or erroneous code, clear it and see if it comes back, but only if you are qualified to make that decision. At the very least call a reliable, honest service rep (if you can find one). Don at Sacramento Truck (Freightliner) is such a resource. Google and ChatGPT are pretty good for a starting point, but both can be wrong, so use them only for verification or for comparison.

I must apologize and reframe my comment. I should have said reset codes such as oil change and a few others. Yes a diesel tech will need to know and issue such as a Def head failure and why. Agree 100% DO NOT clear codes.
 
I'm not on board with not clearing codes. You have to know the situation and make a decision, consult with your chassis vendor, etc. My last situation I had a derate and was able to use my tool to force a regen, clear codes, and I was on my way and never had an issue again. Otherwise I would have required a tow and who knows what would transpire from there. In the aviation world I learned of a term "MIF - maintenance induced failures" - sometimes getting help can make matters worse.

JoeDutchstar, I should have said clearing codes ( after ) the repair has been done such as a DEF filter which I just did myself. Example, I somehow pinched the internal filter o’ring and started leaking the pressure is 120 /130 psi so the system picked up on the leak wouldn’t build pressure and thus through a bunch of codes. My dash look like a Christmas tree. The reader gave me 5 codes all had to do with def- src system. That’s how I figured out what it was, cleared the codes to confirm repair.
