The other day I noticed yuck at the bottom of my Dometic CF-80 and thought a beer bottle broke. Not surprised, always wondered how the vibration would affect the contents of the cooler which is mostly bottles and cans.

Yesterday I did the next chore on the list for this cleanup stay as the first stop out on the trip which is to empty and clean the cooler. No run fo'sho! Took everything out, unplugged, removed the cooler and did the cleanup. Disgusting. It was actually a beer can, actually multiple beer cans ruptured. I had them on their side and stacked. I'd say at least half the bottom row had ruptured.

Cans placed in vertical this time and we'll see how things go. I'm still not impressed with the cooling wondering if I ever needed it in freezer mode if it would freeze. I had it set to 28F and my bottles of water were not frozen, cold, but not frozen. The gauge showed 31F as the actual temp on the side of the cooler. I dropped it to 26F and will see what happens. I'll give it time having had it out yesterday but I know some mention using this as a freezer. I wonder what temp you're setting as the setpoint to actually get to freezing the contents?
