We are in Canmore, Alberta (just outside of Banff) at the municipal Campground. It is the only one near here that is first come first served. The RV section is FULL. We arrived just after noon at which time there were only 3 spaces available and only one that would accommodate us. The other two filled quickly with Rentals Lots of tenting space available though.View attachment 29765View attachment 29766View attachment 29767
My wife's parents are at Tunnel Mountain this week. I should get her to ask them if it's full like it is every day in the summer.

But you might not be interested in those dates at all, maybe you actually want the 24th through the 27th. Before you enter your preferred dates, your eyes are drawn to the default display. If the campground happens to be full on those pre-selected dates, you may assume the park is full altogether and never bother entering your actual dates.
Jim, you're being too kind. KOA is a sales-based organization. Its software is developed to create demand. Nothing says, "Hurray, book now; better than there is only one site left." I have checked KOA's website numerous times, not to book a site, but that's the only way to see what a nearby KOA is charging per night compared to what I paid where I'm staying. Rarely will you see "19" sites left at this price. It is just one of the reasons why I never have, and don't intend to stay at KOAs.

It's no surprise to me that you will find many Florida CGs empty this time of the year because it is peak hurricane season. My brother used to have a B&B in Key West. We would visit him almost every year in September because of the 25-30 rooms he had or managed, maybe six would be used during our stays.

This trip Starting Monday, so far camp grounds are empty. Large KOA in a Jennings Florida off I 75, only 4 rigs. Whole rows empty.
When planning this trip I had campground hosts say to me, the place is empty no need for reservations.
Is this Normal for this time of year??
We stay in Jennings several times a year traveling to and from visiting with my kids in central Florida. Never had an issue getting into the KOA; seems to vary from a dozen or so rigs to maybe a couple of dozen, but never had an issue getting in.
