Florida to the Grands Canyon

One of my wife's Bucket List items is to visit the Grand Canyon, so it's now in the planning stage...
We live in NW Florida and travel all around the SE, but have never gone further than two stops away from home. We will do either one or two night stops enroute depending on a lot of things, but primarily because we've done the route before and have an idea of the day's environment. I'm initially thinking that alternating one and two-night stops might work to allow rest and wind down for everyone.
We always try to stay at gov't parks, but end up in commercial RV spots some night. We do not boondock or HH.
We have a 46' 5th wheel TH, 2 motorcycles, 2 big dogs, and a 3500 diesel tow rig.

We did a trip to the Grand Canyon in 2024. We stayed in Williams AZ. We were gone about 6 weeks.
On the drive out, some one nights just to rest combined with multi night stop to visit areas. We did the Alamo on the trip.
I used RV trip wizard to help, I still learning my way around it.
You will not regret the trip, something to see where ever you stop. We used HH as well, mainly on the drive back.

Good campgrounds both north and south side and it's not hard at all. Enjoy the journey. If you haven't done Mt. Rushmore it's a must see as well.

When we have a destination, we do two travel days then a two day break. However, if there are interesting places to see on the way that routine is not set in stone. It sounds like you will be traveling thru some noteworthy places. You might want to stop and enjoy New Orleans, and as John&Andrea suggested, San Antonia (as well as the Alamo their River Walk was pretty nice too) and lots of other places in enroute. When we visited the Grand Canyon, we stayed in the Trailer Village. From there we were walking distance to the rim. Neal suggested adding Rushmore and I agree, it's a must see and on the way you can take in Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Moab, Yellowstone, The Tetons along the way to make your journey a loop.
