Hi everyone, I don’t usually post something this personal, but I wanted to share our situation.

My wife Lisa and I had planned to start full-time RV travel this June as the start of our retirement. Just a few weeks ago, she was diagnosed with cancer.

Right now, she’s still feeling well enough that we could take this trip, and that time together means everything to us. Unfortunately, the medical bills and treatments have quickly taken a big portion of what we had saved.

We’re trying to figure out how to still make this journey happen while we can.

If anyone has advice, resources, or has been through something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing from you.

We've been through something similar, but treatments, chemo, radiation, immuntherapy.....take months not weeks. Not to mention there's no way to assess the efficacy of the treatments or how the patient will feel a few weeks in.

What ever you decide, remember to pay attention to the toll her desire to give you a memory with her, is taking.

Know when she needs more than her desire to give can offer.

With the same breath, you will need to understand if the travel is for her, or you, and act accordingly.

Prayers for you both. I had cancer in 2010 and have been fine, cancer free since surgery. I’m not sure what the right answer is, only the two of you know what is best.

My thought, I’m not sure I would FT until she is at a good place with treatment. My son in laws Mom was diagnosed with cancer over three years ago and given less than two years. She is still doing ok. She has regular treatments but she is still with us. So you never know. I wish you both the best. Keep the attitude positive.
