I agree, I have not used it as it seems too complicated to deal with. Can I just use the card? Do I need to use the app? Do I need to use the card and the app at the same time?
I want to try it but....
Yes @Underboss you first authorize through the app and then swipe the card at the pump. This prevents fuel card fraud and only activates your card when you're ready to fuel.

I'm having second thoughts about using Greenlane. Last week, I tried using the card and got a message saying, 'You have exceeded your authority for this transaction.' Whatever that means. I tried calling and was on hold for over an hour before giving up. Fortunately, there was a station on my route where Open Roads worked flawlessly. Today, the same thing happened. I sent a live chat (LOL) message at 3:51 PM Central time and a follow-up at 5:24 PM. So much for customer service. @GreenlaneOfficial , do better.

And here I've yet to try my new account with them...

It's 8:17 and crickets.

What's crazy, I'm probably doing something wrong. What i do know is I can reach Open Roads 24/7/365.

I like that they work at Mavericks. Do other cards work there too or do these cards compete for retailers?

I tried using the card again today with the same outcome. Apparently, @GreenlaneOfficial works 8-5 Monday - Friday, and nobody minds the store any other time.

Use at your own risk.

@Texas Clodhopper, when do you get this error?
Here are the steps I go through:
1) open the app and select the station
2) assuming you are at the station, use the option to authorize. Be careful of the following: a) what you authorize (diesel and/or def) b) form of payment.
3) swipe card at pump and select the EXACT same options on the pump you used on the app. If the pump is telling me that there is a problem with authorization, it is because I tried to do something on the pump that I didn’t authorize on the app (eg - authorized only diesel on app but told the pump I wanted tractor diesel AND def)

I authorize deisel, my form of payment is wallet by default. I have $500 in my wallet. I authorize 75 gallons. The fuel cost $4.849/gal. $363.67 total charge.

Thanks for your input.

I've been using Open Roads since it bagan in 2019. After reading about these other convoluted diesel discount programs here and other information sources, I see absolutely no reason to add other diesel discount programs. In my 7 years with Open Roads, their program and customer service has been flawless. It just works!

It doesn't hurt to have options and compare discount pricing. It's probably pennies different but it could also mean you find something nearby with one not available in the other. Open Roads is good but they don't cover all the stops. I like the idea of researching to see what my options are.
