Question Has anyone had a problem with the fan in the roof , mine started to smell like burnt wires.

Take the trim covers off and look at the wiring. Wires can get loose going down the road and also could have rubbed through the insulation. The other thing is depending on the type of fan the motor could need cleaning and lubricating. It could be working too hard and causing a heat build up which is not good.
