Hi I'm brand new to rv life and this Friday I'm buying a Class A :). Please don't laugh at me but do I need chains or snow tires to go to Vegas for Christmas through Jan 4th?

Welcome aboard! And to your question, no idea.

Coming from where? That's rather an important bit of information, coming from the north would have potential for chain controls.

Probably not. Watch for a weather window coming and going. Also 95 might be a better choice than 93 (the way your gps will take you) so check conditions on both as you get close on to Kingman on 40.

This is a good thing to determine in advance, and it’s smart to ask the question since you will want to avoid chains and snow in general in a Class A. Even if chains aren't required, light snow on the roads can be slippery enough to run into trouble.

When we were planning a trip, we always checked the weather for a 10 day window before leaving where ever we were. If some huge storm was in that window of time, we decided on what route was best to avoid what we wanted to miss. Addind a few miles or adding a day in some cases saved us a lot of grief. Your trip should have no snow, but always check just in case.

Good point on 93. We were just on that a few months ago, talk about fubar highway! Pothole city, we'll be taking 95 next time even if it'll add an hour or two.
