this allison trans has forward neutral and reverse..then a mode button that I assume let's u change gears manually. the manual opt has up and down.I went down the engine shifted into low and I could take foot off brake, but the gear was too low so I pressed up which gave me more speed about 45mph then i pressed up again and it took me to 55..when i reached bottom of mt I struggled to get it back to automatic ,but played with it tapping brake and it returned to normal..Engine brake. Look for the switch by the drivers seat.
The mode button can also be used to read the "codes" if you're having trouble with the transmission. They can also be used to check the oil level in the transmission. I highly recommend you find an Allison Operators Manual and read through it. I've sold Commercial Diesel Trucks and have sold THOUSANDS of Allison Transmission for the last 30 years but even I had to sit down with the manual for the 3000 Series Allison in my coach to see how it was programmed and what all the buttons did.this allison trans has forward neutral and reverse..then a mode button that I assume let's u change gears manually. the manual opt has up and down.I went down the engine shifted into low and I could take foot off brake, but the gear was too low so I pressed up which gave me more speed about 45mph then i pressed up again and it took me to 55..when i reached bottom of mt I struggled to get it back to automatic ,but played with it tapping brake and it returned to normal..
I'm glad to help. I may not be a diesel mechanic but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night!!again..thank u for the help..I read over it but didnt understand much..will slow read again ....amazing to have this kind of help!!
Look up underneath the slide. There should be some turn buckles that can be used for adjustment if it's like my Holiday Rambler. I hate to be a broken record but I would assume there are procedures on how to maintain or adjust the slide in the owners manual. That's where I always go look first. Since I don't own a Tiffin I can't give specific advice. You may find what you're looking for on YouTube. Lots of great videos there. Maybe you should also post this question in the Tiffin section of this forum so more Tiffin owners may see it. Good luck!
Here's an example. Hope it helps! There were lots more...............
