No. Hanson Insurance Agency in Mentor, OH

Whew. I have foremost through Overland. Was hoping your post wasn’t foreshadowing.

I was a more than loyal USAA insured for 53 years! No more!
First off, the Progressive quote through USAA went up over $1,000 on the RV! Upset me enough that I started shopping!
A competitor was $1,300 less on the RV! Oh, and better coverage too!
Then came the real "kick in the teeth"! They asked about a vehicle quote, nothing ventured, nothing gained; so as a result; the quote included increased liability & collision coverages, a Comp deductible reduction and was a bit over $400 every 6 months less expensive! Three claims with USAA in 53 years(2 auto, 1 home owners)! To be blunt, I was pissed, felt deceived by USAA all these years, & quickly changed carriers!
When contacting USAA to cancel; the reply(at least 6 times) was "Well Cpt. Bishop, we appreciate your many years with USAA"! I asked about a better rate, they couldn't (yet new customers get better rates & a senior Manager admitted such). To reduce my USAA premiums, they suggested dropping"comp" on the 2 older vehicles!
I cancelled everything (auto, life, investments, etc) I had with USAA, other than a credit card, & have now often wondered, " How long have I been getting Raped by them?"
It's my fault, as I had drunk the USAA "kool-aid" many years ago, & felt no one was better! I'm disappointed in myself that I was so gullible; but rest assured; never again by USAA, nor any other Company! I'm retired, old & grumpy, & have plenty of time to shop & compare each year!
For some, USAA may be the best company to use, but for me never again!!
If curious, the new carrier is GEICO....recommended by my son!

Sorry to hear of your situation but I think loyalty lies with who gives you the best deal/rate. We owe nothing to USAA, they are a business like everyone else. They once catered strictly to military and I don't know the details but I think that has changed as again, they are a business and they want a larger market share. I've been with USAA for over 100 years (okay, however long it's been) and still have much with them but if I had the time and effort to shop around I would.

As a 50+ year USAA customer I, too, am beginning to consider shopping. Between USAA and Progressive through them, I spend north of $10k/year with them. This year I will be spending $1500 more than last year for the same coverages. Somethings gotta change here, either them or me.

Don't be like me and drink the "koolaid "!
Good luck!
Sadly USAA has really changed in the last 5-7 years.
They will never get another penny from me!

CEO changed about 5 years ago. CEO just changed again. Hopefully it will turn around.
Sorry about your experience, certainly sounds subpar. Kool-Aid is never good for anyone.

USAA has never been the cheapest for me and I don’t use them for my RV. But I do use them for all of my other insurance because while they aren’t the cheapest, they are certainly the easiest to deal with and they tend to operate in good faith, which is a lot more than can be said for some other institutions.

Good point, the times I have had to file a claim it was really easy with USAA but that's not having any knowledge of how other companies are to work with.
