It seems the closest to us that we could find. I cant see up making a trip to Grand Rapids. Did you all go to Grand Rapids or just handle all dealings remotely?
Because I was new to RVing, I chose to do a Factory Pick Up so they could teach me "everything", including how to drive it. ? It was well worth the money. I sent my build sheet to 4 dealers and Michele Howard from Newmar sent my specials to each dealer. It didn't really matter to me where the dealer was located, as i knew I was going to the factory to pick it up. David from Midway came to Nappanee to do the closing during my FPU. I had a great experience. Wishing ya'll all the best!

Next stop, Austin TX. Any advice on best parks there, please post. I saw the Austin thread but not too many places listed.
Welcome to RVF! Motorhome purchases can be hard decisions, but less of a problem when you're shopping for a Newmar.
What are you looking for in Austin? I live there and may be able to help.

Like "ARD", I too did the Factory Pick Up. Well worth the time & money, especially if you are new to the RV world.
I got a build sheet for the model I wanted, put it together, & sent it along with my "specials" to 6 different Dealers.
Knowing I was doing "FPU", it made no difference who the Dealer was. Wound up buying from a local Dealer, as he was about $2,000 less than the best other quote.
Though the Dealer has a horrible Service Reputation, if needed they are local, & the selling dealer, so if needed, I could utilize them, as a last resort!
There is much to learn, heck, just the "jargon" is like learning a new language!
Also, numerous sites from which to gather information, but the guys & girls here, are the "Newmar Specialist", in my opinion!
Ask questions, do your research, & best of luck in your pursuit of your new Newmar! All in all, they are great coaches, & Newmar does stand behind their product!

Geographically, I'm in a unique place.
Home to Midway RV = 50 miles
Home to Newmar Service = 69 miles
Home to Spartan motors = 57 miles

Good Morning. We just starting researching Austin accommodations. Lake Travis seems lovely and we’re open to any place near a golf course. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi! New to RVing! Soon to be anyway. Researching motorhomes and resorts/parks currently. Next stop, Austin TX. Any advice on best parks there, please post. I saw the Austin thread but not too many places listed. Highly considering the Dutch Star and have started the “building out“ portion. Very overwhelming to say the least especially when we have no experience or base knowledge. So this site is quickly becoming a great resource for us.
Austin awaits you! There is a cherry little park right on Barton Springs in the mix of it ALL. A short walk to Zilker Park. Rumor says Macaulay Culkin comes in to stay awhile during SXSW. Also you can go check out the Oasis on Lake Travis. They call themselves Oasis Texas! Pace Bend and Pease Park are favorites for the annual Sailboat Regatta. And the list goes on. The station on the radio is 93.3 for new rock and 93.7 KLBJ (Lady Bird Johnson not her hubby Lyndon). The LBJ library is all about him and is an interesting visit. Have to cruise Gaudalupe at UT (walk, driving is INSANE) to get the College Scene and Rainey Street is the new trendy 6th Street. Austin360.com is the go to place for events and news. Hit me up when you hit town and I'll show you where we put our statue of Stevie Ray Vaugn! There are many places with a variety of amenities on Lake Travis. Head NW up to Marble Falls. It's amazing up there. But stop at the Gnarly Gar in Lago Vista for dinner and cocktails and live music. There is a golf course there I enjoy as a new golfer. I spend 3 days in the parking lot of the Gar and played golf with some residents and did some fishing as well! I just find places that are what I am looking for and pull in. Find turnoffs into the country. @MapNerd and @GlampDaddy can tell ya how to find what you personally are looking for. Texans really are friendly. Most land owners will let you park for the night out in the field somewhere. Great way to make friends you would have never made otherwise. There is always the trusty Walmart parking lot :)

Well, I can tell you how I sometimes find what I am looking for. Usually I come here and ask!

We ordered our coach to spec from Newmar. Do share as you go through your research process @Franni614. Folks on here have saved me from quite a few headaches and I’m only 7 months in.

welcome to the forum, don’t be a stranger. No dumb questions here.
