It was on a tow dolly, so the dolly was the brake.
 
I have several friends who tow 4-down without brakes. They claim they don't need one because their diesel pushers have so much tow capacity. I just shake my head because my DP doesn't notice the toad either but a breakway is what scares me. Imagine how you'd feel if your toad killed someone?

As @redbaron pointed out, my mistake. I'm going to correct the title of the thread to avoid further confusion from my error.
 
When we used a dolly we always used a separate strap/chain through the wheel as a safely in addition to the straps over the tires.
Luckily the Jeep didn’t hit anyone.
 
I always had the drive wheels on the dolly! Never considered any other way! Rear wheel or front wwheel drive.
