OK, so I just purchased a 2014 Canyon Star 3610. We moved up from a 37ft 5th wheel. This our 1st time owning a Class A. We live in northern Minnesota. Needless to say, it was a bit chilly driving the unit home from the dealer. The chassis heater did okay at keeping the windshield clear and me fairly comfortable., but it didn't warm up the living area. My question is, is it ok and safe to run the propane furnace while driving? It's way too cold to run the heat pumps. Then in summer, is it okay to run the generator while driving so that I can run the a/c and the fridge? I'm sure I will have more questions as time goes on. The owner's manual is pretty much useless as far as telling you how to operate everything. I hope all of you folks don't mind me asking what might seem like dumb questions. As I stated earlier, this is our first Class A. Our 5th wheel was a higher end unit, but it didn't even come close to having all the bells and whistles that this coach has. This is a whole new animal and I have a lot to learn. I just hope this long cold winter gets over soon so that we can start to enjoy this unit. Thanks in advance for whatever advice you can offer.

Yes it is! I have always used the generator to power either the heater or A/C units when ever the weather calls for it running down the highway..

Congratulations and welcome. You don’t need the generator just for the refrigerator.

But, yes what Engleman said

Everything in your RV is made to use while going down the road using whatever power source is required. But I wouldn't advise taking a shower.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Check on the console under the driver window and see if you have a aux heat switch. It was an option on our 2019 Canyon Star. It is a heater that runs off engine heat and can warm the bedroom of the rig. No good when camping, but helps warm up the back of the bus.
