I have a 2010 Kiefer trailer, i'm losing tension with the self assisting arms which makes it difficult to bring the awning in and out.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Welcome to RV Forums, @mprince.

Can you help us with a brand/model of the awning? A photo or two would help as well. There's no way we can help you without some more specific information.

I'm guessing you have the gas struts that are getting weak. Those are "relatively" easy o change out, but can be a PITA at the same time. My awning has a pin in each end so if yours is the same, extend the awning all the way out, pull the pins, then put the new one in and replace the pins. Maybe you can find out from the mfgr which struts you need (IF that's what you need). Here is a video so you can figure out which struts you have
