My bike has that option as well, 3rd party speed unlock. I decided not to do it as it can void warranty, cause problems, etc. 20mph is fast enough.

Agreed! I was rolling along at 15 MPH and was amazed at just how fast that is!

Look up road rash before curiosity overwhelms reason, don't ask me how I know..........

So, does everyone wear a helmet? I mentioned it to Trish and she scoffed at me like I'm some kind of wimp. lol, don't want to be the wimpy guy on the bike but on the other hand, I don't want to see my brains leaking off the side of the curb either.
My wife and I wear helmets. It only takes a second to put on. Everyone knows a story about someone falling or getting hit on a bike. My wife brings another hat along for when the helmet comes off. That's her fix for helmet hair.

Was checking Amazon for helmets and saw this promotion. Seriously?

Very cool. We are seriously thinking about a pair of E-bikes. Thank you for the reviews.

Of course now you’ll have to buy a Tesla. It’s the next step. :).

Enjoy and ride safe.

This morning, we loaded up the ebikes and headed to Parker Field, a large park with lots of paved areas to ride on. This was actually the first time Trish had been on hers and the first time I had ridden mine on anything but the driveway around here. And wow, these things are a BLAST! I started out on the lowest power assist but was up to 3 (out of 5) before long. In 7th gear, and in PAS 3, 20 mph is easily maintained. It didn't take long to realize that gloves in the early AM are going to become a part of the kit.

So yeah, we had a blast today!

Same ebikes my Sister and BIL bought. They seem to like them.

My safety equipment arrived today. :)

These helmets have a patent pending technology that senses when you are going to fall and crack your head open. So just before contact with a hard object, like the road or a concrete curb, a blast of compressed air shoots out all sides of the helmet, kind of like an air bag but without the bag. There were some problems during the early development/testing stages as the blast of air was sometimes uncontrolled, causing several people to lose their heads when the blast turned inwards instead of outwards.

I’m told the bugs have been worked out and the helmet comes with an ironclad guarantee that should the original purchaser suffer any physical damage from the failure of the system in any way, the purchase price will be immediately returned. (Supplemental waver charges excluded)

The helmets were $36.22 (total for both) and the supplemental waver was $683,210.00.

I bought two!
