Hi everyone,

I just bought 2017 Roadtrek El couple of weeks ago, very excited but the engine battery needs a jump every couple of days. I dont know anything about Rvs, Please someone help me why it dies every couple of days. The ace store checked the battery and said the battery was good, I really really appreciated your input,

If that’s on a MB Sprinter chassis, there is an inherent parasitic drain on the battery that will draw it down if not used every few days. It’s just the nature of the beast. If you are going to park it for over 3-4 days, be sure to disconnect the battery.

Something simple to install if you have room in battery box area.

Thanks Neemer, Now I know there isnt anything wrong with the car battery system.

Look under your dashboard near the floorboard on the drivers side. You might have a red quick disconnect. My 2017 Sprinter has one and it’s an easy process without going under the seat.
And yes, if you do not disconnect, the battery will die in a matter of days.

I have the 2019 RoadTrek Zion. If you aren't driving it regularly. Particularly in the winter months. Which is when my battery has the tendency to die. I purchased the Noco Genius10 battery charger and have that hooked on the battery to keep it trickled charge when not driving regularly. That has worked good for me.

Agree, parasitic drain is one of the biggest drains on the battery. I ensure I turn off my dash entertainment system when not driving.

Look under your dash down by the “gas pedal” for a disconnect. I have a 2017 CS Adventurous with a quick, red button that disconnects the negative stopping the draw… Took me a few to figure that one out as I had the same issue.
I know that by my security system on the van that shows volts, that within five days the battery will be dead, if I don’t unplug.
Hope that helps…..
