Old but new RV GPS

Based on my experience with Gemini at work and general LLMs - I am not sure I would blindly trust these models to route me correctly and help avoid low bridges.
Too often I have to challenge the results it comes back with, point out what I know to be wrong, and tell it to try again.
The idea is great, will just need a bit of time to convince me it’s error rate for hallucinations is minutely small.

I currently use RV Life Trip Wizard for planning and navigation and am quite happy with it. I am, however anxiously awaiting the release of Google's maps update. You make a good point about the new version's reliability and will use it in conjunction with RVTW to prove it out.

AI hallucinations largely occur when the information provided is subjective. AI is highly sycophantic, analogous to relying on company a** ki**ers to keep the boss informed. GROK being the poster child for telling the user what they want to hear.
Not sure if a map and routing app would however be subject to AI misinformation since it's more "if this, then that", than it is heuristics.

I will stick with m Garmin RV as a primary. I do use google as a secondary.

I have found, too many times, that RV Life Pro, which uses Here maps, has errors I just cannot live with.

My primary, as stated, is Waze (Google Maps) and use Apple Maps as a backup when Waze does hiccup, which it has on several occasions.

I also like the time & distance to my destination, BUT also want waypoint information. That is where my Apple Maps falls into place. Luckily, I can run both simultaneously with main, in dash, 10" unit and my iPhone in a holder in front of me.

I haven't had any bad experiences with RV life pro yet and run it in tandem with my Garmin 1095. The Garmin rarely deviates from the RV life route by any significant amount and it provides real time traffic info for me just fine.

I work with AI in my job and like Memories I'm leery of relying on it in a "real time" environment.

RV Life Pro took me through a scummy looking mobile home park once with motorhome and my toad! That finished me with their directions!

Ditched RV Life for InRoute planner (like it much better and less expensive, along with not supporting the group that runs “that other forum” ) instead along with our Garmin.

Reliable enough and not thinking of even trying something AI powered instead.

I've had good look with my older Garmin RV660 LTM. I upgrade it every January. My navigator, errr, My Dear Wife, will use Google when we deviate from our route when heading to a campground, Harvest Host, or Walmart. At times when the directions Garmin gives don't seem to make sense, looking ahead, she'll Google the directions and make a comparison to the route Garmin is leading us on.

I don't believe there is any 100% navigation system out there, but I think the improvements Google is making are a great addition to an already great platform.

Good point, except my navigator/copilot doesn't know E from W, or N from S.

Mine sometimes has a problem with right and left as well as compass points!
We do go through a new route on Google Earth though. It helps to see intersections and off ramps in real life via Street View.
