We did a "shakedown" trip, just to get off the property, get our feet wet towing, and the general things. A couple weeks ago we bought a 2021 Imagine XLS model MKE from two very nice people who took amazing care of it. We think they may have only used it a few times. We did not want a big trailer b/c that means a big truck, and we're very happy with our decision. We love the murphy bed, there's plenty of room, huge amount of counter space and lots of storage. We just think this is the perfect RV for us and are very excited about travelling a lot after we're retired.
The trip went well except for a few hiccups. I forgot my wallet, my wife forgot her purse (Thank God for Apply Pay!!!), and one of us (we're still arguing about who) left all the kitchen utensils at home. Last but not least, the previous owner left the black and grey tanks pulled open, so yeah, there was a nasty surprise when I emptied the tanks
We used the restroom at the park so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Now that y'all have stopped laughing, I will report my 2023 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with the Max tow package pulled effortlessly. The gas mileage was 11.5 MPG one way and 10.8 the way back. I guess that's not bad.
We plan to retire in the next year or so and want to do some trips out west and into Canada, maybe for a month or two, maybe the whole summer. Boondocking is a big part of our plans. But we are going to do a lot of trips before that happens, and put wallets and purses on the checklist!!
