I have scrubbed it and scrubbed it!. it is just discolored and already roughed up.These can be cleaned up with a Scotch Guard pad and good cleaner and then use a good vinyl sealer not paint. You can paint it as well however get a paint specifically made for this purpose and a good binding primer. The problem with painting is that the tend to chip and peel over time and that can leave you with a real mess.
Good idea. I'll have a good look-see in a few days as to how easy it will be to remove it.I would remove it from the RV and paint it seperately. Overspray from rattle cans is out of control when done outside due to winds, etc.
Putting the part to be painted inside a large amazon box and spraying it inside there will give you protection from debris and collect the overspray.
You can then reseal with silicon when putting it back on and have a very clean result.
I don't have a picture, but what I have done is setup a large box on a table, put a smaller box inside , and placed the part on that smaller box. This lets me rotate the part without touching it. All of your spray will be collected inside the box and won't go everywhere. Like a miniature paint booth.
