I might suggest you take some cribbing, or blocks, and strong ratchet straps with you. That way, you can yank the axle and springs, throw some blocks/cribbing under it to get the spring mounts off the deck, and strap it down onto your truck bed. Deal with the cleanup and permanent mounting after you get it home to your shop.

A cordless sawzall might come in handy, too. Just saw the spring hangers off, and strap it right down on the bed.
