Never had issues with our setup…

Three stage filter (5 micron sediment, carbon block, anti viral / microbial) followed by the water softener, then whole house filter.

Sanitized once a year and the filters were good for about 2k gallons.

Used water for drinking, ice, etc for the 4 years we full timed and various water sources - no problems.
What exactly did the whole house filter do to improve things after going thru that system? The water was worn out by that time.....lol. I have a Clearsource system but have not used it. I also do not drink the water and probably sanitize more then most.

What is most concerning in public water supplies today is what's not being tested for.

The least expensive method for safe water consists of ozone bubbling followed by carbon block filtering.

It is easily scaled up for whole house use. And produces water of a quality unmatched by any other current filtering methods in use today.
I would have to tow another trailer to ozone bubble, prefilter, filter, carbon block, reverse osmose it, and then uv radiate it. For gods sake just buy a bottle of water. Get the Poland Springs from Western Maine, probably loaded with Radon but something is going to kill you someday.

Awh come on! You know I have no intention of dyeing.

Anyhow the only thing you need as far as equipment goes is a tube, a bubble stone, an ozone generator, and the holding tank your RV came with.

If you use that tank you never need to sterilize the tank because the ozone does the job every time you run the system.

Add the carbon filter to remove dead organisms, and you have a system.

Bottled water smells like plastic because of the micro-plastics dissolved in the water.

The O3(ozone) is absorbed in the water so no worries about rubber deterioration, or health concerns.

Ozone generators do have a working life, but dollar to dollar, bottled water is far more expensive. And we are talking a whole house system (carbon filter only for the drinking water circuit), that has you showering in quality water as well.

Whole house probably didn’t do much but you never know 😊

It is the Clearsource three filter system that we used. Worked quite well over the years.

You are several years ahead of me but I don't think bottled water is going to kill you. How many products do you ingest every day that has been made with plain old water or even worse? I used to say I didn't drink water(I don't usually drink just water still) unless it had whiskey or bourbon in it .....not really true as I have limited my hard liquor intake for years....but it sounds good...! I just spent over a month in Maine filling up from the well my Grandfather dug by hand and stoned up, 11 ft deep, in 1953. When I inherited the house it had a wooden cover and everything could fall in. It had a hand pump on the well house up into the 60's. Neither myself or my wife or children and now grandchildren suffer from bad water. It seems just like the Radon scam that ran thru the country several years back. I was a builder at the time and my brothers FIL was on one of the nation wide morning shows talking about all the dangers of basements and granite countertops.....If you can squeeze into a nitche and scare a few Karen's it will make you rich. Go looking for a problem hard enough and you will find it.

Honestly Kevin, My greatest concern is the hazardous product floride. Only four methods are known to remove it, and least expensive is ozone. What most overlook is it can be injested through the skin while showering.

Simple fix for a serious problem.

Thats why I am so healthy. I never lived where Fluoride was introduced to the water. And my dug well sure didn't. But then, I have really bad teeth......

The lie is floride is good for your teeth.

The Covid shot is bad for you also, but don't tell that to certain people. Science is what the prevailing party uses to funnel profits to themselves.

Bought a RV second hand from someone that had less of a clue than I do about a year ago. My 1st RV.
BLUF: How do I thoroughly clean the black chunks out of my potable water tank?
I've recently started looking at the potable water tank and noticed that it looked like it had some black scaling on the inside.
I filled the tank put a cup of bleach, let it sit for several days, drained it down to about half, road it around for 30 min or so drained it, several chunks of the black substance came out, still see a good bit on the walls , took a larger clear hose sprayed water on the inside, used it to drain larger chunks.
When you touch the chunks that come out the dissolve.
New Install complete, combined the drain and pump intake line, increased the size from 1/2 to 1". Added a cutoff to the hose intake as a backup to the check valve.. added a three canister water filter to cover both the tank and external hookup.
