Well this was an experience. Very slowly pouring stuff.
Gained experience and exercise. Know how if needed in an emergency situation in the future. Not interested in this method as a regular routine.

If you get the flow going right they will empty in about 30 seconds. Still a PITA, however.

I just stuck a knife in the handle and made a small hole to get it to move along.

I like the method because you can add at your leisure rather than repositioning at the pump and holding up truckers. Also I keep mine full so I just add a jug every thousand miles or so - usually in a CG after hours with a beverage readily available. Easy and only takes about a minute. And of course this is the only way you can verify the date and source of manufacture. I think someone (Dutch Star Don?) built a little shelf inside the door to make adding a jug easier. But alas, I’m not even really a DP owner anymore so what do I know…. 🙁

I also built in my DEF tank bay so it holds 3 jugs and my sewer hose bin. Note extra spout, funnel (just in case) and refractometer at the ready.

I cut a square out high near handle with razor knife, it drains fast, when I try the truck stop pump, while repositioning, the pump times out and I have to go back into the station, PITA

Yup, no way I would deal with pump DEF unless you could fill both from the same position. Even then, you’re buying an unknown commodity for an already fragile emissions system.

One other thing Joe is I never have to deal with more than one jug at a time. I can see that dealing with three jugs at one time would be a chore. When I’m down 1/4 tank, I add one jug the next time it’s convenient, usually in the late afternoon at a campground after the dust settles on all the other little chores. Keeps my DEF tank full, I never have to worry about finding DEF or paying convenience store prices, and I never have to deal with more than one jug at a time. For me this is much more convenient than dealing with it at a truck stop.
