Pulling it with 2017 F250 diesel. It pulls fine. Just wondering if 380 from Denton to Brownfield is a 4lane or just 2 and if it's a good road. I really don't like 6 lanes at 75 mph as 20 is. I tow at 60 to 65 mphNot sure how to answer since you only listed your RV and not what you are pulling with. If you have a diesel then take the most direct route which would probably be 380/70 right over through Roswell. If you are trying to pull that 40' fiver with a gasser then I would look for the route with the least amount of steep grades.
Thanks, traveled to Lubbock many times, and just didn't know how 380 was since it is direct. Pulling a 40' 15k fiver and if it's a rough road I won't take it.First off, Welcome to RV Forums. This is a great place to learn and contribute to the RV lifestyle.
Secondly, take a few minutes in your profile and list your RV and tow vehicle. It helps the community answer questions better.
Now back to your question, we live in Haslet, we are from Lubbock (still have lots of family there) and have family in Ruidoso too.
We have traveled from here to there a gabillion times, we haven’t been on 380 in years. It used to be a fairly poor road with a lot of little towns. But, again I haven’t been on it in years.
I probably wouldn’t recommend going down to 20 then up to Post. Going through FTW is a giant PITA we try to avoid if possible.
Our preferred way to get to Lubbock is to go up to Wichita Falls (yes I know it’s longer) on 287 then turn west on 277 to Seymour and 82 into Lubbock. There is a good RV park in Wolfforth called Mesa Verde and a free city park in Brownfield. Then 380 up to Ruidoso.
If you're kinda new to all this I'd suggest going to WF then Seymour and Lubbock. A good part of it is multilane and pretty smooth good roads.
380 is more direct but more towns and I think a 2 lane road most of the way.
