I’m on standby list for @Neal’s flight from FMY-OCF (Ocala) but there are headwinds so he probably won’t make it. It’s going to require an extra fuel stop and he’s already committed his gas money to @Jim 🤗

When you call ITR, ask for Randy if he doesn’t answer the phone. The dude is unreal.

Sadly, I am still fighting hot water issues and my passion and love fest with OASIS continues. No faults this morning and no hot water. It's been intermittent at times as reported before and I thought it was a fuse not seated well, nope. I turned off the diesel burner and electric elements as I was using the furnace for the night (not doing so great) and cycled the two breakers in the half bath. I turned on only the diesel burner and it came on, it would not come on previously but the green light was on. I have hot water.

I typically do the service kit annually but decided to wait until it was "needed." I think I may go back to what I was doing and do that annual service kit annually! So I'm going to do that but I think this issue may be external to that kit and I'll be putting in a call to ITR, placed on hold while Jim has a half day chat with them, and figure out what part(s) I need to throw at mine. Guessing some thermostat or something as it's 7 years old now and something else is likely failing.

I'm going to take Jim's dollar that's on my desk and apply it towards my parts. Sorry Jim!

So if anyone has any suggestions as to what part may be failing feel free to play my OASIS lottery too :) Time to re-read all those documents we've been throwing at Jim. I still want to see a picture of him wedged in the basement like me getting stuck in there!

It is probably not a bad as you think. I just got off the phone with Randy at ITR, and he trouble shot my issue in a matter of minutes. My problem is a thermostat that acts as a timer between the time you ask for heat and the time that it kicks on the heat, keeping you from dumping cold air into the coach. Give me a minute to write these trouble shooting instructions down and I'll forward them to you. It will only take you a few minutes to find out if your problem is the same as mine.

BTW, it's a pretty easy fix.

Thanks. Is there a part I need to order? I was thinking of getting that thermostat, the electrical diagram link above shows it zip tied on and seems like an easy swap (famous last words).

Here is what you do to find out if that is the problem.
  • Remove the 4 Phillips screws that hold the front cover on your Oasis. (There the 4 outer screws, positioned at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock) Don't remove the other screws as they hold some interior parts onto the cover.
  • Remove the short, black air intake hose (about 2.5” in diameter) on the right hand side of the unit.
  • Behind the hose are some wires. You want to pull the two orange ones that are connected to the thermostat, taking care not to let the bare ends touch the metal of the Oasis.
  • Using a blade fuse, connect the two wires together.
If the system fires up and starts normal operations, then it’s the thermostat that is bad. Part # 1027. According to Randy, it's OK to leave the blade fuse in place and use the Oasis until the new part arrives. I put some electrical tape around mine to make sure it didn't vibrate loose and short out against the metal.

I just called ITR and my issue is a circulation pump issue, nothing else. If the unit is up to temp the burner won't run, it's either pumps not flowing properly or the check valve is stuck so I need to tap that with a wrench. He agreed I did not need to use my service kit if it's been running.

I'll post this separately but he said the US SOLAR PUMPS are NOT to be used. They are not rated for heat or flow rate. Good thing I just ordered two that will not be used and have two coming from ITR (250ea).

I think in my case it's another case of "non use" for the scoreboard. Sitting in storage for extended periods seems to cause these things. I was thinking of winterizing when I get home as it will be in storage for a while but I think I'm going to instead pay the price of diesel and let the diesel burner run throughout the winter and keep furnace fans on a low set point. At least the system will keep fluids cycling. Yes, I can go monthly and cycle but I think it may be best to just leave the system on.

I don't know if the Solar Pumps are inferior or not, but based on the unbelievable support these guys provide, I'm willing to spend the extra money for the ITR pump. If for no other reason than to support those who support me.
