How To Replace a summer loop pump in a ITR OASIS Hydronic heater

Hot water is restored. This was the most painful pump replacement to date and I'm done with US Solar pumps, they are a new style and don't fit! You can see in the image below you now need these brass fittings which just extend the ports so you either need to cut the hoses, which is fine for the horizontal ones but the vertical ones are already at min height. I had to remove the zone 2 pump to put in the summer loop position and put the new pump in the zone 2 position which was difficult.

I'll be ordering two from ITR (or the website above) and stop being cheap as it cost me time and max effort to make this work.

I haven't tested the pH, everyone that has seems to find it in range and with adding heater fluid at times it seems the system refreshes by normal ops. Someday I'll check it. I think these pumps are just high failure rate and not rated to last as long as we would hope, years! I think per this thread they are rated to last about one year.

When I replaced my summer pump last fall after losing hot water, I did have an ITR pump and the replacement went pretty well. So I guess it’s worth the extra bucks…. Good to know!

And a fluid change may not hurt….when I changed mine last spring it looked pretty ugly. It was brown…
