Helping a neighbor trying to take GE 1.7 Cu Ft microwave (mod# PVM9179DRBB) out and replace. It’s in a Newmar Kountry Star 2004 KSDP3904. Pictures attached. No idea how to access the bolts to release and take out the microwave.
I have arrows pointing at where the bolts are. I took the wooden faceplates off and there’s no access to the heads of the bolts to loosen- they’re behind this white metal mounting plate. I started to cut the metal plate l, but I thought I’d post, and see if there’s an easy way to access and loosen the bolts. Any tricks to take this broken microwave out?

Review this thread and see if it helps:

Thank you for the link! But this microwave has a “fake” spice rack, I’m going to call it, above the microwave- it doesn’t open to give access to the bolts. It’s a decorative facility plate that unscrews and exposes the metal plate below. But thank you for trying!

The screws are run up through the upper facia of the Microwave into the spice rack wood cabinet material. They do not use top down bolts like in residential installs. Try to disassemble the upper area of the microwave to find the screws.

I helped my brother change his out. The top front screw are the easy ones to get out. The rear ones are the tuff ones to get in to see. There were no bolts on his. All screws. 4 or 5 on front top once open the door.

OUND THE SOLUTION:
See picture attached of thin channel locks I used to grab the bolt between the bottom of the cabinet and the top of the microwave. Unthread from in between, then took two cap screws out which were underneath the grease filters. These screws held the back side of the microwave to the bracket on the wall.
