In December of 2022 I bought a new 2022 Roadtrek Play. Amazing RV. During the test drive something in the back was beeping, but I didn't think much about it. Summer 2023 the beeping was happening again and got a warranty covered repair. I don't know what they did, but it quit for a while. Spring of 2024 we took it out of storage and both lithium batteries were dead! Out of warranty. About $5,000 later I had two new lithium batteries and a switch to disconnect the batteries completely when in storage. Worked great for a a few trips. Late 2024 took it in (different shop) because the batteries didn't seem to be charging - the shop replaced the inverter. Another couple thousand out of pocket. Summer 2025 my wife slept in the van for a week with it plugged in to shore power. I came in and stepped on the floor in my bare feet and the floor where the lithium batteries are was very hot (no furnace running). Yikes. Now, we are back to another two new lithium batteries dead.

The only explanation I can think of is that the charger installed by the factory was a lead-acid battery charger which burnt out any connected lithium batteries. Now I am afraid to use the van the wrong charger could easily start a deadly lithium battery fire.
