RV Parks

I am researching to become a full time RVer. It says the average monthly cost for RV parks is 1200.00. Does this sound about right? Any advice would be great

Currently $350/mo plus metered electric (last electric bill was a little under $70 but the local electric is going up)
Last park was $425 including electric.

My current max is $500/mo including electric (metered or included). I do NOT stay in "resorts". I stay in parks that cater to the working class "riffraff" (according to some RVers).

I pay $350 monthly for the lease in Florida, pay my own electricity. When working at the refinery in metro St. Louis MO I paid $400 monthly for my spot there, paid for electricity over $75.

Those are my only full-time experiences.

I think the local places here where my house is in So. IL are $500-$600 a month.

The costs will vary dramatically based on location.

In some areas we have had as cheap as $400 for a month (including electric) to as high as $750 a month + electric. There are places that cost WAY more but we shop around or avoid a whole geographic area because we didn’t want to pay $1000+ a month just for a site as full-timers.

However, when doing a vacation to a specific area, we have been known to pay more for 2 or 3 weeks to be close to where we wanted.

As others have said, with some careful shopping you can do much better than $1200. Many parks don’t publish monthly rates so when looking at prospective parks, call and ask. You’ll probably be pleasantly surprised.
