RV tire prices

Although if they're been kept covered, have no serious sidewall cracking, and have plenty of tread, I could see getting another year out of them. I bought my coach used, 4 years old though only 17k on it, and it came with snap on tire covers, but I don’t think they were ever used. My sidewalls, especially on the drivers side, we starting to look pretty questionable at 51k/7 years.

I changed them out at six years on the last rig - only had 15,000 miles on them, but more sidewall cracking than I was comfortable with. On that rig I switched to Coopers. They were a lot cheaper, still 10 ply, and rode just as well as the Michelins. I am not sure that I will use Michelins when time to change them out on the Bay Star. Since I never go longer than six years, amongst the top quality brands, I am not sure it matters which one I choose. Cost saving is not the primary, but a significant driver. I did not have the rig long enough to see how the Coopers fared over time, but they most likely would have done fine for six years and 25,000 - 30,000 miles.

I got this from Michlien Tire that shows acceptable cracking since I didn't know what was the definition of unacceptable checking/cracking. Mine are between #2 and #3 put with date code of 13 week of 16 and the coach went into service Sept 2016 with 33,000 miles on the coach. We are going to replace ours after our Florida Trip returning May 2023.
