Interesting. Did the inlet/outlet hoses (passing through white board) start out that far apart, or did you drill a new hole to widen the space between them?

I probably drilled new holes. Newmar puts a backing board behind it as the white wet bay panels are plastic and flex. You can see I also 3D printed a support for the lower area of the filter housings to give them support and keep them plumb. Prevents that flexing moment. Nothing fancy needed but something to consider in an install.

Moving on from the single canister has been on my dodo/want list for a while, but so far I haven't come up with an option I like that will easily fit, but maybe the dual standard canister like you have is best approach and give up on the idea of higher flow big canisters.

Left Hearthside Grove this morning and when disconnected my water line from my camco "pre-filter" brown yuck came out. I tossed that blue filter and figured I'd better check my house filter, at least for the photo op but I'm home in two days so really don't want to put a fresh filter in right now. So I dropped the sediment filter housing and surprised it was actually clean. The pre-filter did its job.

Saw brown come out of faucet this morning, yuck, at new CG and drained fresh and refilling it now. No thanks for HG water!

I yanked the in-line water filter out when my Travel trailer was new as it was in a clear plastic housing apparently designed for household, not RV, use. I now use a simple carbon filter that attaches to my garden hose for filling my freshwater tank.
It works for me as I never use tank water for drinking. I carry separate drinking water for consumption. Been doing it for 13 years with zero problems.

Often see brown come out initially. Maybe excess iron. It usually clears up after running for a few seconds.

It's fairly common for brownish water to come out of CG faucets when first turned on, especially if the site or group of sites isn't occupied for a while., Sediment, maybe a little iron.

Somewhere along the line, we were told the above. As part of our setup list, we sterilize the faucet and then flush it out - before hooking up the hose.

While I did see brown water come out of the spigot for the site, which I see often and typically run the water to purge the yuck out, this was my kitchen faucet hence dumping fresh and reloading in VA.
