Scary rv encounters

I did not personally see this, but figured it was a good way to start a conversation about poor decisions people make when loading their equipment for hauling on the public roadways.

There are a bunch of things I’d like explained about this. In addition to how it got loaded, how do you keep the oil in the engine in this position? Hopefully, it has a sealed battery.

Don’t even ask if the trailer tires and axles are overloaded.

Looks to me like a disaster trying to find a place to happen!

I don’t have any photos, but years ago I saw a converted transit bus up on Vancouver Island, BC, that had a platform on top for a VW bug dune buggy. The owner had a set of long (like 25’), spindly portable ramps that he attached to the back of the bus and then drove the vehicle up them. It had to be a 30-degree slope. The whole thing wiggled, wobbled and shook while he did it. One of the scariest things I have ever witnessed.

I always wondered how he avoided hitting overpasses, etc. because the whole setup must have been at least 15’ tall. Not many overpasses up there at that time, but I’ll bet there are some today.

That is one way to end a vacation the bad way: one man drove his Prevost Marathon RV onto the race track at Lime Stone, probably thinking he could take the shortcut. He is now RV-less, because the motorhome has been impounded.

This ”RV” was parked behind us last night. As they were leaving this morning, I was able to get a picture of their tow vehicle. I’m guessing they were here in the KOA section of Polson because they didn’t meet one of the requirements of the Resort section.

Now, that’s “camping!” Beautiful Modal A Ford too. I love to see these classic vehicles still being used. From one “classic” to another, “well done, folks—well done!”
