Slide Motor Nut.....What is this for??

2011 Jeep Liberty
Been checking all my slide motor bolts. On my FWS motors, each has a nut on the back side of the gear case. One nut is tight...cant move it. The other nut rotates 360 degrees in both directions and does not move in or out on the threaded stud.


Any one know what this is for?
