Here in lies the problem. If he actually has an inverter charger it would have a transfer switch built in as part of the unit. He would not need to plug in the house to power the house systems, because it would be hardwired in.In a previous post OP indicates he has no converter in the trailer, but I would think anything with a 30 amp cord would have a inverter/charger onboard somewhere to provide service to the coach And charge the batteries supplying the 12volt circuits. Perhaps he can find a mobile tech that could come out and give him a hand identifying his components.
But, but, but, that's what I do! That is why the answer I gave. Believe it or not, it is more common than you think. We are pretty sure he does not have an inverter/charger, but he HAS to have a converter/charger or there would be no way to charge the batteries.
I think the problem is that we are not sure of what his setup looks like and the thought that he is plugging his trailer into his inverter/battery system, which would be the incorrect way to go about this…
Incorrect is a state of mind. Failure is incorrect! But, but, but, that's what I do! That is why the answer I gave. Believe it or not, it is more common than you think.
