We have significant water leak stains on the slide-out ceiling in our RV and have not been able to find a product that completely eliminates these stains. We are seeking alternative treatments to rectify this situation. There presently is a carpet like covering on the ceiling. Has anyone painted this carpet-like covering? Or any other suggestions?

Pull it off. There is no other way besides lighting a match.

Maybe look at Polywall for a replacement material? You can pick it up at Lowe’s in 4’x8’ sheets. Completely waterproof. Basically just a 1/16” sheet of white nylon.

I have the same problem after re-roofing my unit. I'm thinking about using bleach to return the ceiling material to white. Responses are appreciated. moajots@gmail.com

On mine I have tried bleach, bleach and water, hydrogen peroxide, peroxide and water, Folex and water, Folex full strength, and "Blue Magic". All to no effect. Folex looks like it work upon application but the staining returns when it dries.
Between the Folex and Blue Magic I was able to eliminate almost all the various moderate little spots and stains in our actual carpet though.

Hmmmmm. Thanks very much for your reply. I'll get back to you if I find something which works. I wonder if there's a paint or stain which can be used? Another idea would be to stain it in a manner where you can utilize the water stains to give it an "artsy" effect. Don't know.
